Following the crossbreeding of the original British Bulldogs and the local ratters found in Paris, France, this small breed of dog came to be known as French Bulldogs. They are domestic dogs who love to run and play. Chitawee French Bulldogs, as they are known by, have so much energy and love to be around people. This makes them a good candidate as pets. The question remains however, “Is a Chitawee French Bulldogs the Right Pet for You?” Here are some pros and cons of the breed.

1. Apartment Dogs: You do not need a very vocal dog in your apartment barking ceaselessly. This breed of dog fits the bill of an ideal apartment dog. Its barks are not frequent and it is known to handle itself properly in an area of high population density. So, if you are sensitive to high volumes, you may have to consider this dog type.

2. Protective: It is typical for this dog to be protective of its owner, really. Although, they are known to bark when in the presence of strangers, they are still glad to meet people. They crave for attention so much which explains this attitude to strangers who seem to take away the attention which they believe should be given to them by their owners. In simple terms, they are quite fine around strangers when they are not being protective of their owners.

3. Sociable: As mentioned earlier, French Bulldogs love to meet new people. Approaching an unfamiliar face is a breeze for them. In as little as no time, they would cozy up to the visitor of their owner. The most important thing to them is to receive the attention which they crave. They play with people of all ages which allows them to easily fit into any home. They can coexist with adults and children alike.

4. Harmless: You can be rest assured that this dog would never hurt a soul. As a result, they cannot be relied upon as a means of protection. Their lack of muscles rule out any chance of being used as a guard for the family since they lack the ability to intimidate people. Their harmlessness makes them ideal as pets.

5. Funny: Thanks to the original French Bulldog breeders, this pup can be very comical. They are ready to do a lot of funny things just to grab your attention. As pets, you would enjoy having them around to provide you with comical relief. You can also train them to maintain a boundary as they attempt to do anything which would entertain you. Once you establish a proper authority early on about acceptable behavior, you can sit back and enjoy the entertainment which it provides. They are a good lapdog who only exert energy while playing. For example food allergies could be because of the dog consuming a lot of dairy products, wheat etc. Sometimes it could be environmental and this might be related to coming into contact with mold, dust, pollen and also fleas. Some common symptoms in bulldogs include sneezing, vomiting, diarrhea and watery eyes.
